Dr. Zhen Guo received his Ph.D. in Astrophysics at Kavli Institute for Astronomy and Astrophysics (Peking University, Beijing) in 2018, under supervision from Prof. Gregory Herczeg. From 2018-2021, he worked as a Post-Doctoral Research Assistant at the University of Hertfordshire (UK) with Prof. Philip Lucas on eruptive YSOs from the VVV survey. His research interests are focused on the observational science of stellar variability, especially among pre-main-sequence stars, using optical to infrared photometric and spectroscopic data.
His recent works reveal the physical mechanisms behind the variable young stellar objects, including stellar spots, star-disc interactions, variable mass accretion process, and star-planet interactions.
