Viviana got her PhD at UPMC (France) in 2013. She then moved to Harvard University (USA) as a postdoctoral fellow, and later came back to Chile to work at the Joint ALMA Observatory (JAO) as an associate researcher. She is currently an assistant professor at the Institute of Astrophysics in the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile.
Viviana is an astrochemist. She uses molecular lines to study the process of star and planet formation. Her recent research is focused on the chemistry of protoplanetary disks.
