Odette got her PhD at the University of Warwick in the United Kingdom. Her main research areas are white dwarfs accreting from non-degenerate companions (systems known as cataclysmic variables) with emphasis on nuclear evolved companions, in additionI work on metal polluted white dwarfs measuring the chemical composition of the polluting material. Her expertise: the analysis of ultraviolet spectroscopy, photometric data and atmospheric modelling of white dwarfs. Besides, Odette also is interested in simulations of stellar and binary evolution. Thus, skills on data mining of large catalogues and machine learning are important to be able to perform this research.
