Antranik is a theoretical astrophysicist working in the field of exoplanetary sciences. Currently, he is an Alexander von Humboldt (AvH) postdoctoral fellow at the Astrophysical Institute and University Observatory (AIU) of the Friedrich-Schiller-Universität (FSU) in Jena, Germany.
His research concerns various aspects of astrophysical dynamics and celestial mechanics with a focus on the formation, evolution, and architecture of exoplanetary systems, both solar and extra-solar. In particular, his work focuses on developing mathematical and computational models to understand how planets and smaller objects such as asteroids and comets interact with each other.
Antranik completed his PhD in 2022 at the Department of Applied Mathematics and Theoretical Physics (DAMTP), University of Cambridge, working with Prof. Roman Rafikov and Prof. Mark Wyatt. At Cambridge, he was also a member of Darwin Collegeand a Gates Cambridge scholar. Prior to moving to the UK, he completed his Master’s degree in theoretical physics at the American University of Beirut (AUB), working with Prof. Jihad Touma. Prior to that, he did his undergraduate studies in physics at the Lebanese University (LU).
